I never heard of this wonderfully, talented dancer/actress until just recently. She was quite amazing and I would give anything to have her legs!!

Aileen's Musings Tutorial
I love Aileen's Musings blog. She is so generous with her tutorials and the directions are always simple and easy to understand. Check this video out on how to make these cute little whimsical bird (or fairy) flower houses. Here's a picture of a completed one. I haven't made one yet, but it's on my "to do" list! http://www.outsidethemargins.com/photos.php?gallery=34

I love NERDS!
One of my daughter's friends was eating a box of Nerds the other day and was about to throw the box away. I said NO, I can use that. "Like for what?" they said! So, I made her this bookmark with it...love the colors and now I'm confiscating all of the colorful candy wrappers/containers I can find! I'm off to a new adventure. Isn't it cute?!!

Friday the 13th!!
~~ Superstitious ~~~ Stevie Wonder
"Very superstitious, writings on the wall,
Thirteen month old baby, broke the lookin glass
Seven years of bad luck, the good things in your past.
When you believe in things that you dont understand,
Then you suffer,Superstition aint the way
Very superstitious, wash your face and hands,
Rid me of the problem, do all that you can,
Keep me in a daydream, keep me goin strong,
You dont wanna save me, sad is my song.
When you believe in things that you dont understand,
Then you suffer,Superstition aint the way, yeh, yeh.
Very superstitious, nothin more to say,
Very superstitious, the devils on his way,
Thirteen month old baby, broke the lookin glass,
Seven years of bad luck, good things in your past
When you believe in things that you dont understand,
Then you suffer,Superstition aint the way, no, no, no"
Happy Friday the 13th ... Have a fun weekend! ~ Amy

No way!!
Okay...so I've been off the computer for 4 days and just checked my emails and what do I find?!?!!! As I'm checking out messages in one of my art groups, I find a link to a fascinating blog about mandalas and spirituality http://bluebird123challenge.blogspot.com/ .
Wow...I'm a tiny bit freaked out, but that's okay! It has this link to a place that you can create your own mandalas, which is what I want to do! Too cool!!!

Here's a cool picture from Anahata. I seriously need to get busy.
Can't wait...I have BIG plans for this coming week, so be prepared!

Am I that stupid?
Seriously?!!? In one of my older posts I mentioned this awesome artist that makes mandalas. I had no idea what they were and vowed to research them when I had time. So I finally did the research and OMG - duh! It's the 'circle of life' basically, well...sort of. Sometimes I wonder how I have gotten through my life so far not knowing some of the things I continue to learn. Is it a good thing that I at least am curious to know what some of these things are, like a mandala...only to feel so stupid not knowing what it was in the first place?! Jeez...how embarrassing!
Well...here is the first place I found that explained it in terms that I could understand. http://www.mandalaproject.org/What/Index.html
So...as summer comes around and school is out, I think I'm going on a soul search. I feel incomplete and need some wholeness and completeness. Actually what I probably need is more time to lose myself in some art project or another. (I KNOW my fellow artists out there totally understand my frustrations.) Which might also explain why I am obsessing over Fleetwood Mac music, especially "Gold Dust Woman"...which I just learned this weekend is a song about cocaine! Holy cow...once again, I feel like an idiot! Well, guess what - I refuse to interpret that way...music should be what you interpret it to be, right? So...for me this song means my current mood - no drugs...
So...here's to 3 more days...then - I shall make my own mandala and hopefully find some peace.
